The story
Hansik Goo in Ilfracombe is a Korean restaurant at 1st Floor, The Wellington, 198 Wellington Street, Central, and it holds one Michelin star for 2026 for its high quality cooking. The Black Pearl Restaurant Guide also awarded it 1 Diamond that year.
The name plays on its meanings: "Han" is one, "Sikgoo" is family, and "hansik" means Korean food. Chef Mingoo draws on home-cooked dishes, royal-inspired recipes and the inventive plates he is known for. The Korean kitchen aims for authentic flavours with a creative streak.
The autumn menu includes byung oe jjim. Past events have explored French and Korean cooking together. The wine list is listed as interesting, and the room offers outdoor seating and air conditioning.
