The story
Café Bohème, at 21-23 Windmill Brae in Aberdeen, is a modern French restaurant recognised as Michelin Recommended in 2026. Its menu follows a modern French kitchen style, and the restaurant also holds two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence in 2026.
The kitchen works in a modern French register, with produce that follows the season. Spring ingredients such as wild garlic, asparagus and rhubarb appear across the current menu. Two courses cost £38 and three courses cost £50, with a discretionary 12.5% service charge added to bills.
French onion broth arrives with ox cheek and a Comté rarebit, while hot smoked salmon comes with crab and saffron risotto. Mains include lamb rump with a shepherd's pie of lamb shank, and a beef fillet with an ox cheek croquette for a £20 supplement. Vegetarian and vegan diners have their own choices, such as a beetroot galette and pan fried gnocchi with spring vegetables. Whole roast market fish is served with a Café de Paris butter sauce.
The salted chocolate crumble torte is served with coffee ice cream and a white chocolate tuile. Honeyberry crème brûlée comes with lavender shortbread, and a rhubarb and pistachio parfait is gluten free. For a savoury finish, the Scottish cheese selection includes grape chutney, quince and homemade oatcakes. The restaurant also offers wine pairing alongside its wine menu.
