The story
Balmumu Lokanta is a Turkish restaurant in İzmir, at 1388. Sokak No:5 D:C in the Alsancak quarter of Konak. The Michelin Guide listed it as Recommended in 2026.
Gault&Millau gave the kitchen 12.5 points in 2026. The guide describes traditional Aegean recipes rebuilt with contemporary touches, on a menu with real variety. It calls the place a "modern-day esnaf lokanta", a neighborhood tradesman's eatery that keeps its friendly spirit while freshening its approach.
The guide notes a warm smile as soon as you cross the threshold. Outdoor seating is available for those who would rather eat outside.
