The story
Giritli is a Mediterranean restaurant at Yenigüvey Sokak No:9 in Cankurtaran, Istanbul, and appears in the Michelin Guide as Recommended for 2026.
The kitchen follows the Aegean table, with light dishes built around what is in season. Gault&Millau rated Giritli 11 in 2026 and points to seasonal fish, meze made with fresh herbs, salads and traditional recipes. Marinated fish, olive oil dishes (zeytinyağlılar) and cacık are the ones singled out.
Giritli serves from a restored house on Istanbul's historic peninsula, so the Mediterranean menu comes with an old-city setting. Outdoor seating is available.
