The story
Le Du is a Thai contemporary restaurant at 399/3 Silom 7 Alley in Bangkok's Silom district, and it holds one Michelin Star in the 2026 guide. Chef and co-owner Thitid "Ton" Tassanakajohn runs the kitchen.
The name comes from the Thai word for season, and the menu follows that rhythm. Ton trained at the Culinary Institute of America and staged at Jean-Georges and Eleven Madison Park in New York. Since 2013 he has used that training to present Thai ingredients with a modern edge. The World's 50 Best Restaurants placed Le Du at No. 30 in 2025.
Guests choose a four-course or six-course menu, and everyone at the table takes the same number of courses. One popular dish reworks khao chae, a Thai summer staple, with jasmine-scented ice cream, pork paté, shrimp and pickled radish. Another pairs tender grouper with ant eggs. The wine list, chosen by a certified sommelier, draws on bottles from around the world.
The dining room has been renovated after a decade. Its centerpiece is a fixture of thousands of glass tubes filled with Thai herbs, plants and spices, hung in curves and lit from within. Red chillies stand for the hot season, and green leaves for the rainy one, so the ceiling reads like a rice plantation changing through the year.
