The story
Gaa, at 46/1 Sukhumvit 53 in Bangkok, is a contemporary Indian restaurant that holds a 2 Star Michelin distinction (2026). The kitchen works across modern Indian cooking, and the room sits inside a restored Thai house on Sukhumvit.
Chef Garima Arora leads the kitchen, reinterpreting classic Indian flavours and techniques through delicate, modern preparations. The Gaa Signature Tasting Menu is the central format, drawing on the many regional cuisines of India. A vegetarian menu is available, with vegan and gluten-free options on request.
The restaurant occupies a transformed 60-year-old traditional Thai house. The upper Baan Ruen Thai Dining Room has curved ceilings hung with a white string installation. The lower Garden Room seats guests at tables enclosed in metallic curtains, which gives each table a more private feel.
