The story
Gül, a Turkish kitchen at Tellstrasse 22 in Zürich, earned 15 points from Gault&Millau in 2026. The restaurant sits in Kreis 4 and cooks Mediterranean and Turkish dishes across lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
Chef Elif Oskan builds the menu around the wood oven and the charcoal grill. The kitchen draws on eight regions of Turkey, from the Black Sea coast to the Aegean. The menu changes with the seasons, and most dishes are made by hand, with organic produce used where possible.
Gault&Millau praised the börek filled with leek cream and topped with truffle, and the ekmek baked in the wood oven and served with egg salad. Spit-roasted lamb arrives with flatbread, which you roll yourself into an Adana kebab. The meal ends with baklava filled with almond frangipane, served with rhubarb and an Earl Grey glace.
