The story
Les Ateliers, at Rue des Deux-Gares 6 A in Vevey, serves modern French cooking in a former industrial hall behind the railway station. Gault&Millau gave it 16 points in 2026.
The restaurant occupies the old "halle inox", the stainless steel workshop, which stood abandoned for nearly 25 years before it was restored. Gault&Millau calls the post-industrial space imposing. Guests can choose between a smart brasserie and a more elegant gourmet dining room. The Michelin Guide lists the address as Recommended for 2026.
Jean-Sébastien Ribette runs the kitchen, and his partner Sahondra Verdan leads the attentive service. The house describes its cooking as simple, inventive and modern, built on fresh ingredients. Gault&Millau singles out the refined, technically precise plates from regional produce in the gourmet room.
The Gault&Millau review describes a salmon tartare with horseradish sauce as the amuse-bouche. Duck liver in a pistachio crust followed, served with beetroot tartare and sorbet. Saint-Pierre arrived with turmeric, asparagus, aubergine caviar and lemon emulsion. Veal fillet came with a millefeuille of sweet potato, carrot and ginger. Swiss cheeses led to a dessert of strawberry and rhubarb, with strawberry sorbet, strawberry gelée and rhubarb chips.
