The story
Le Restaurant, at Hauptgasse 64 in Solothurn, serves Classic French cooking inside the historic La Couronne hotel, and it holds the Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026, awarded for good quality, good value cooking.
The kitchen works with fresh produce, much of it from the surrounding region. The menu runs from straightforward lunch dishes to a gourmet dinner, with a tasting menu and wine pairing also available. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 14 points in 2026 and noted that the card has recently widened, now including Wagyu braised beef and cordon bleu made with Napf pork.
Reviewers singled out a tuna with avocado compote and pomegranate mint salsa, and a lobster cocktail with avocado and marinated summer tomatoes. A carrot soup lifted with purple curry impressed more than the main course, a neck fillet of Omoso beef that one reviewer found bland. The cheese selection is put together with care, and the blood orange dessert arrives in three forms: segments, mousse and cake.
