The story
Brasserie du Royal in Lausanne serves French brasserie cooking at Avenue d'Ouchy 40, inside the Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa, and the Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for 2026. The kitchen follows the classic French tradition, and the menu changes with the seasons.
The restaurant works with carefully chosen local producers and describes its cooking as generous and sincere. Summer dishes on the website include a chilled courgette velouté, a pâté en croûte with bold flavours, and a sea bream ceviche with sharp accents. The kitchen pairs traditional recipes with contemporary technique, so familiar flavours often come with a subtle twist. Brunch is served every Sunday and on special occasions.
The wine list is a draw in its own right, and Wine Spectator gave the restaurant its Best of Award of Excellence in 2025. The hotel also runs wine workshops led by its sommelier, Johan Strazzeri. The room is elegant and warm, suited to long lunches and shared dinners.
