The story
Villa Winzerpark is a French restaurant at Winzerweg 5 in Allschwil, just outside Basel, and Gault&Millau awarded it 15 points for 2026. The kitchen cooks classic French dishes with a modern hand, in a villa set inside a park.
Martial Kastner leads the team and describes his approach as classic French cooking, reinterpreted in a modern way. The menu runs to four or five courses, with a vegetarian option available. Most ingredients come from the region, and a changing lunch offer sits alongside the à la carte card.
Gault&Millau reviewers singled out a potato and leek soup with parmentier, espuma, leek oil and Périgord truffle. The leg of lamb with garlic, gratin dauphinois and thyme jus also impressed, as did the skrei with aniseed foam and potato mousseline. Dessert was a pineapple carpaccio with caramelised peanuts and caramel ice cream.
The building was once a family villa, and its renovation kept the original character. Guests can dine in the restaurant, the Winzer Bar, the wine cellar, the garden hall or on the garden terrace. Upstairs salons serve meetings and banquets, and the Michelin Recommended mention for 2026 sits alongside the Gault&Millau result.
