The story
Enigma at Sepúlveda 38 in Barcelona holds two Michelin stars (2026). It is the only Albert Adrià restaurant in Spain, and it serves a seasonal tasting menu that changes month by month.
Adrià worked at El Bulli from 1985 to 1997 and now brings more than 35 years of experience to Enigma. The menu follows what the markets offer, with tradition and innovation both working for the product. Expect 20 to 25 plates. The World's 50 Best Restaurants placed Enigma at number 34 in 2025, citing the delicate, playful cooking.
RCR Arquitectes, winners of the Pritzker Prize in 2017, designed the space. The lighting, furniture, shapes and materials are all unique to it. Mystery is part of the visit. Guests enter with a secret code issued at reservation, and the menu is handed over only after the last dish, so each plate arrives without preconceptions.
The list runs to around 1,000 bottles from Spain and beyond. Two pairings are offered, Enigma's wine selection and the Eureka! selection, which draws on Old World regions and emblematic Spanish bottles. A non-alcoholic option of eight drinks includes signature cocktails and alcohol-free wines.
