The story
JUEUN is a Korean restaurant in Seoul at 8F Gyeonghuidang, 36 Gyeonghuigung-gil, Jongno-gu, and it received a Michelin Recommended listing for 2026. The kitchen cooks classic Korean dishes, and the menu is a single course progression built around the season.
The restaurant's greeting describes Korean food shaped by the seasons and by tradition, presented by chef Park Ju-eun and her team. The courses change with the day's ingredients, so the menu you receive depends on what was delivered that day. Dietary restrictions can be sent in advance, and vegetarian adjustments are possible.
Early courses include yukhoe, raw beef served with pear and egg yolk, and jeungpyeon, a steamed rice cake made with buckwheat and makgeolli. Tangpyeongchae arrives as mung bean jelly wrapped around sweet crab, with vegetables picked for the season. The rice course is a pot of byeongpungchwi rice cooked in an Anseong brass pot, served with lily soup and dandelion banchan. Charcoal-grilled bangga tteokgalbi rounds out the rice course.
A private room seats up to eight, and the restaurant is suited to larger groups. The wine list and the sake list are both noted. Dessert in late spring is a wild raspberry hwachae, and the meal ends with three traditional Korean sweets served with plum blossom tea. The Black Pearl Restaurant Guide awarded JUEUN one diamond for 2026.
