The story
Harrat is a Middle Eastern restaurant in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, at Southern Reception, Banyan Tree AlUla, Ashar Valley, 43563. Gault&Millau awarded it 13 points in 2026, and the Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended the same year.
The menu covers Middle Eastern mezze, fresh grills, seafood and some pasta for guests who want something more international. Gault&Millau singles out the Hejaz saleeg, rice cooked in milk with cardamom, onion, garlic and chicken, and lamb mansaf with Jordanian-style rice, jameed sauce and marqoq bread. Local chefs prepare the food with seasonal ingredients from AlUla's sustainable farms.
Harrat has an outdoor terrace, an indoor dining room and a lounge. The restaurant sits on the edge of the desert, with rock formations shaping the horizon. Lebanese desserts finish the meal, and the dress code is smart casual.
