The story
Tuna is a seafood restaurant at ul. Elektryczna 2 in Warsaw, where chef Martin Gimenez Castro cooks a fish-led menu that the Michelin Guide recommended in 2026. The restaurant sits in the Powiśle district, a short walk from the Kopernik Science Centre.
Martin Gimenez Castro is an Argentinian chef who has lived and cooked in Poland for more than 18 years. He is also behind Ceviche Bar and Salto. Apart from desserts and one beef dish, every item on the menu is built around fish or shellfish. The kitchen works head to tail and follows a zero-waste policy, using as much of each fish as possible. The restaurant buys only from fisheries that respect marine habitats, and it has worked with the Marine Stewardship Council for years.
Many guests start with Gillardeau oysters. The menu then moves on to gambero rosso with artichoke and truffle, or to seasoned white halibut served with chanterelles, zucchini and curd cheese. Diners can choose a tasting menu or order à la carte. The single meat dish is Argentinian beef with demi-glace, a reference to the chef's home country.
The dining room is dark and elegant, with silvery walls patterned like fish scales and small lamps on each table. A large window cut into the wall lets guests watch the cooks at work while they wait for their food. The room is air-conditioned, and the restaurant is known for an interesting wine list.
