The story

Gavi Restaurant, Kraków: Polish Fine Dining at Plac Kossaka 6

Gavi Restaurant, at Plac Kossaka 6 in Kraków, cooks refined Polish food with European influences. Gault&Millau gave it 13 points in 2026. It sits inside the five-star Bachleda Luxury Hotel, close to Wawel.

Chef Filip Gracz and the menu

Filip Gracz designed the menu around old Polish cooking and treats it with modern technique. The card reads as a reinterpretation of Polish classics in a fine dining register, with European standards alongside. Seasonal additions change what is on offer. Wine Spectator gave the list its Award of Excellence in 2023.

The venison Wellington

One dish gets singled out in the Gault&Millau notes: venison tenderloin à la Wellington. It comes with creamy chestnut purée and a port wine sauce. It is a good example of how the kitchen pairs a traditional Polish ingredient with a classic European method.

Art Deco room and courtyard patio

The Art Deco dining room is full of marble, fine fabrics and crystal chandeliers. It has won repeatedly at the World Luxury Restaurant Awards. Outside, the patio sits in the courtyard of the townhouse, among plants, fresh flowers and wide umbrellas. It suits a slow lunch, or a dinner under soft evening light.
