The story
Bottiglieria 1881 serves a seasonal Polish tasting menu at ul. Bocheńska 5/1 in Kraków, and Michelin awarded it two stars for excellent cooking in 2026. Every table orders the same menu, which changes with the seasons and is built around local producers.
Przemysław Klima is head chef and co-owner, and the restaurant has counted among Kraków's leading addresses since 2013. Many dishes rest on two or three ingredients, chosen for quality and often sourced from local suppliers. Classic Polish products appear in a contemporary form, with attention to what each season offers.
The full experience costs 990 PLN and the lighter Introduction 940 PLN, with a 12.5% service charge added to the bill. Dishes on the menu include Beef and Caviar, Trout and Chamomile, and Pierogi with Chanterelles, followed by sweets such as Cottage Cheese and White Chocolate. Oysters Gillardeau and Antonius Oscietra caviar are also offered as separate specialties.
The restaurant sits in a cellar that is about a hundred years old. Brick walls and warm wood set a quiet, intimate tone, and the tables are plain, without white tablecloths. The wine list holds more than 500 labels, and head sommelier Michał Drozdowski guides guests through it. Wine Spectator gave the list its Best of Award of Excellence in 2024.
