The story
Wilhelminapark, at Wilhelminapark 65 in Utrecht, is a French kitchen in a thatched former tea house that earned 13 points from Gault&Millau in 2026. The Amsterdam School building opened in 1898 inside the city park and still anchors its lunch and dinner service.
Reviewers describe classic dishes with a contemporary twist, plated from an open kitchen. A recent visit paired seared scallops in tomato broth with Pata Negra ham and black olive, followed by roasted lamb rump with pea mousse and polenta. The chef's menu can also be ordered in a vegetarian version, and the kitchen cooks with seasonal produce.
The dining room has a herringbone wood floor, comfortable armchairs and a long wall bench, with neatly set tables. On sunny days the terrace overlooks the pond and its fountain, and the space feels calm and sheltered.
