The story
Alma is a modern French restaurant at De Lind 45a in Oisterwijk, where the kitchen earned a Michelin star in 2026. The fine dining room sits on the first floor of the former De Swaen hotel, with a casual bodega below. The cooking is French at its core, with contemporary touches that change with the seasons.
Wouter van Laarhoven leads the kitchen and runs the restaurant with sommelier and hostess Malou Hagenaars. Since opening in November 2019, the team has cooked with a single signature style across both floors. Lekker500 placed Alma at number 35 in 2026, and its review praised the dishes for being beautiful and equally delicious. The menu is built around surprise courses, and guests can also order à la carte.
The marbré is the signature, layered from beef sucade, duck liver and Ibérico ham, finished with Olde Remeker cheese. North Sea crab arrives in paper-thin celery cannelloni with fried shrimp and sea buckthorn. Langoustines come with caviar, chanterelles and a dashi beurre blanc, and the halibut is served with langoustine, carrot and XO.
The fine dining room has 48 covers, dark wooden walls and oak herringbone parquet. In summer, tables are set on the balcony above the Lind. Malou selects and serves the cheese herself, and the wine list is chosen to match the food.
