The story
Calla's is a French restaurant at Laan van Roos en Doorn 51a in The Hague, and the Michelin guide awarded it one star in 2026. The restaurant says it has been running for more than 25 years, and it is named after the calla lily, a flower of South African origin whose name is also the Greek word for "beautiful."
Owner-chef Ronald van Roon cooks classical French food with no unnecessary decoration. Much of the fresh vegetables and herbs come from the kitchen garden Laantje Voorham, which supplies the kitchen directly. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 15 points in 2026 and described its regionally inspired cuisine, built closely with the garden.
The dining room is on the first floor, reached by a staircase and furnished with natural materials such as linen, slate and glass. The ground floor holds the open kitchen and the chef's table, so guests can see the cooking up close. Calla's ranked 27th in the Lekker top 100 for 2026.
