The story
Noor, at Zuiderweg 38 in Groningen, is a Japanese restaurant that holds one Michelin star (2026). The kitchen is built on French technique with a clear affection for Japanese flavours, served as a seasonal menu in a former chapel.
Jeroen and Marleen Brouwer run the kitchen together. Their cooking starts from the French tradition and takes in influences from further afield. Fresh acidity and rich, refined sauces form the base, paired with Dutch fish and shellfish, wild game and vegetables from local soil. The restaurant also earned 16.5 points from Gault&Millau (2026).
The chef's table seats two to eight guests at a kitchen counter with a direct view of the brigade. The Chef's Table Menu costs 250 per person and includes dishes such as scallop with wild pepper and kombu, Balfegó tuna 'akami' with tomato and Thai flavours, and Anjou pigeon with cherryaki. A non-alcoholic pairing and a wine pairing are available alongside the menu.
