The story
Ter:Govw serves modern cuisine at Oosthaven 23A in Gouda, and the Michelin Guide listed it as Recommended in 2026. The kitchen takes French technique and sets Asian flavours beside it.
Tergouw is an old name for Gouda, still used by people in the surrounding area well into the 20th century. The owners found it written as "Ter:Govw" on an old print in the city archive and kept that spelling for the restaurant. Gault&Millau scored the kitchen 13.5 in 2026 and noted how well French and Asian cooking can work together.
The set menu comes in four courses (€60), five (€70) or six (€80), depending on what is available that day. It opens with yellowfin tuna, Singapore style, with takuan and ginger. Langoustine arrives with som tam thai, potato and butter chicken. Halibut comes with red cabbage and Jerusalem artichoke, and the entrecote with shiitake, spinach and mushroom XO. Dessert is mango with Thai basil, passion fruit and jasmine. A vegetarian menu is available if you ask when booking.
The restaurant describes its mood as homely, with attentive service and a carefully chosen wine list. It sits in the centre of Gouda, and the chefs build the menu around classics and a touch of acidity and freshness.
