The story
Kruiden & Jasmijn is a French fine dining restaurant at Kerkstraat 43 in Woudrichem, a fortress town close to Gorinchem. Gault&Millau awarded it 12 points in 2026, and the Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended.
Patrick leads the kitchen, and he has worked in several restaurants across the Netherlands before arriving here. The restaurant does not cook a la carte. Instead, the kitchen builds surprise menus of three to six courses around whatever is at its best that season. Zeeland lobster is the seasonal highlight, served as a three-course menu, and it needs to be booked at least two days ahead.
Gault&Millau praised a briefly seared tuna, served with a salad of prawns. The menu runs from a four-course surprise menu to a seven-course version, and a six-course dinner with champagne and wine pairing is priced at €155. Guests can also start with oysters or a charcuterie plate before the meal.
The restaurant opened in 2003 in a house that was converted into a dining room. In summer, guests can eat in the garden with its sculptures, sheltered by the old town walls and the arsenal. Sommelier Michael chooses unusual wines to match the menu, and the wine list is built to pair with the seasonal dishes.
