The story
De Luytervelde is a modern French restaurant in Eindhoven, housed at Jo Goudkuillaan 11 in a farmhouse dating from 1912. The Gault&Millau 2026 guide gives it 14 points. Karin Smits has welcomed guests here since 1992, and the kitchen works with seasonal produce from the land and the sea.
Rob van der Veeken leads the kitchen. He first worked here in 1996 and returned in 2022. The menus follow the season, offered as set menus or from the à la carte card, and can be prepared vegetarian or vegan on request. The house dessert is a trio of foie gras, served pan-fried, as a stollen bread pudding and as an ice cream with apple compote.
The restaurant occupies a long-gable farmhouse with a conservatory, a bar and a private room for groups. Lunch and dinner move to the garden when the weather allows. Karin Smits runs the front of house, and the service is described as smooth and well paced. Michelin lists De Luytervelde as Recommended for 2026.
