The story
De Ertepeller, at Slobbengorsweg 149 in Papendrecht across the water from Dordrecht, is a restaurant with a Dutch and French kitchen that earned a 2026 Michelin Bib Gourmand for good quality, good value cooking. The dining room overlooks the three-river point where the Oude Maas, Noord and Beneden Merwede meet.
Arjan Kuipers, the executive chef, builds his Dutch cuisine on classic techniques and mostly local, seasonal ingredients. Flavors stay distinct on the plate, and fish is a particular strength. Recent reviews single out monkfish with mussels, wild rice, carrots, peanuts and green curry, served with a Soave chosen by host and sommelier Mark van den Berg.
Guests sit in a modern dining room with plush chairs and soft carpeting, with the river in view. The restaurant offers set menus, and next door a bistro serves a more casual menu at lower prices. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 14 points for 2026, citing wines that support three set menus. Lunch and dinner are served on the days listed on the restaurant's hours, so check ahead before you go.
