The story
Domenica is an Italian restaurant at Noordermarkt 7 in Amsterdam's Jordaan, listed as Michelin Recommended in 2026. The kitchen cooks Italian and wider European dishes, with a Mediterranean streak.
The name means Sunday in Italian, the day for a long meal with company. Here that meal is on offer six days a week. Classics such as pasta carbonara sit beside less-Italian dishes from elsewhere in Europe, and the menu shifts daily with the season and what suppliers bring in. From Tuesday to Saturday there is a 5-course chef's menu at 69 euros and a 3-course menu at 49 euros.
Gault&Millau gave Domenica 14 points in 2026. Its reviewers praised Italian classics served with conviction and a real sense of authenticity. They singled out the hare pâté with homemade brioche and Castelfranco salad, a pâté that skips the smooth texture in favor of a more rustic bite.
Since January 2025 the restaurant has kept its bottles in a cellar inside the Noorderkerk, one minute from the dining room. Guests can book tastings there for groups of 6 to 12. A sommelier leads each session, which runs about two hours and comes with small bites from the kitchen. Some groups follow it with dinner at the restaurant.
