The story
Elsa, on avenue Princesse-Grace at Monte-Carlo Beach in Monaco, serves Austrian and Mediterranean cooking and holds one Michelin star (2026).
Lucas Kucz and Chef Philipp Naase have built their cooking around modern German-Austrian cuisine, according to the Schlemmer Atlas. The menu includes a "Bavarian oyster" with cracklings, baked anglerfish and cheese dumplings. The restaurant's own pages describe a sea-led Mediterranean menu, with tuna Rossini and celery with plankton.
The dining room draws on 1930s elegance, redesigned by India Mahdavi, with blue tones that echo the coastline. A large terrace faces the sea and sits among the pines, so lunch and dinner both unfold outdoors when the weather allows.
