The story

The Huaiyang Garden in Taipa, Macao: Huaiyang Cuisine at The Londoner Macao

The Huaiyang Garden serves Huaiyang cuisine on Level 2 of The Londoner Macao, in Taipa. Forbes Travel Guide awarded the restaurant Five-Star status in 2026, and the dining room seats 106 guests across intimate, partly screened niches.

Chef Zhou's cooking

Celebrity master chef Zhou Xiaoyan, known as "The Godfather of Huaiyang Cuisine," created the restaurant. Executive Chef Jack Xiao, handpicked by Chef Zhou, leads the kitchen. The Michelin Guide has awarded the restaurant two stars for excellent cooking. The menu keeps classic flavours and updates presentation with a contemporary, artistic touch.

Dishes from the kitchen

Featured dishes include braised Hokkaido sea cucumber with shrimp roe, steamed Hilsa herring with 20-year Huadiao wine, and wok-fried river shrimp with ginger and spring onion. Baked rice with yellow eel and chives is also on the featured list. Chef Zhou builds the tasting menu around seasonal ingredients, so the courses change with the season.

Room and drinks

Deep cool hues, nature-inspired wallpaper, diamond-shaped lanterns and rippled metal inspired by water shape the room. The wine list is chosen to pair with the food, and the signature Slender West Lake cocktail combines osmanthus-infused gin, Bénédictine, lemon and elderflower juices, and a floral mist.
