The story
Takumi is a French restaurant at 1-11-10 Nishiazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo, where Gault&Millau awarded a 15.5 score for 2026 and Michelin listed it as Recommended that year. The kitchen works from a single course, served at lunch and dinner.
Takumi Otsuki is the chef-owner. After graduating in business administration from Kobe University, he moved to France and spent three years and three months at five starred restaurants, including the three-star Le Petit Nice in Marseille. He returned to Japan in November 2015 and opened Takumi in February 2017. The restaurant aims to describe each course and the chef's intent clearly, so guests leave with a memory of what they ate.
Takumi prepares one course only. Lunch is 13,200 yen and dinner is 19,800 yen, tax included, with a 10% service charge added. A wine pairing is available at 9,900 yen for lunch or 16,500 yen for dinner. Guests can book a private room for an additional fee, and dislikes or allergies should be shared when reserving, since the kitchen cannot always adjust on the day.
