The story
Crony is a contemporary French restaurant at 1-20-3 Higashiazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo, awarded two Michelin Stars in 2026 for excellent cooking.
Michihiro Haruta is the owner chef, and Kazutaka Ozawa the owner sommelier. The name is the Japanese word for a lifelong friend, someone you can confide in and never tire of. The restaurant extends that circle to its producers, purveyors and guests. Gault&Millau scored it 16 in 2026.
Dinner is a multi-course tasting menu. Allergies and dislikes are confirmed at booking, so the French kitchen can cook ingredients at their peak and waste less. Crony seasons with Tosa no Shiomaru salt, harvested without fire. It avoids vulnerable species and baby fish, and buys local Japanese products to cut food miles.
