The story
Michino Le Tourbillon is a French restaurant in Osaka, at 6-9-11 Fukushima, Fukushima-ku, and it holds a Gault&Millau score of 15 for 2026. The Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for the same year.
Tadashi Michino leads the kitchen with his wife Yuko, who also makes the restaurant's desserts. The French cooking follows classical structure, but the menus change with the season and with the producers the team has worked with for years. The chef has said he wants each course to fit together like the parts of a precise machine.
Some seasonal menus have been built around a single idea. In September 2024, the kitchen revived a vegetable-focused French menu that the chef had first run from 2006 to 2009, using dishes such as vichyssoise and a Kobe beef tataki. A 2025 anniversary menu centered on ingredients that support autophagy, with every course built around them.
