The story
Kashiwaya Osaka Senriyama is a Japanese restaurant at 2-5-18 Senriyama-nishi, Suita, Osaka, and holds three Michelin stars (2026) for exceptional cuisine. The kitchen works within traditional Japanese technique and tailors its cooking to each season.
The kitchen preserves the traditions of Japanese cuisine while adding new creative dishes. Every room at the Senriyama branch is private, so each party dines alone. The room decor follows the four seasons, and the menu changes with them.
One sweet on the seasonal menu is a rice cake with sweetened chestnuts. Pumpkin is kneaded into the rice flour dumpling, and steamed chestnuts are pressed through a sieve and paired with coarse adzuki bean paste. Lifting the lid releases the chestnut aroma with the steam, and the dish is best eaten freshly made.
