The story
Chi-Fu is a modern Chinese restaurant at 4-4-8 Nishitemma, Kita-ku, Osaka, awarded one Michelin star in 2026 for high quality cooking.
The name joins Chinois-Fume, a Chinese aroma, with Chinese Futurism. It is read "Shifu" and written 師傅 in kanji, a word for teacher or cook. The kitchen takes traditional Chinese dishes and rebuilds them with Western cooking techniques. Gault&Millau gives it 15 points for 2026.
Lunch runs from the seven-course Copain to the nine-course Special, Degustation and Chi-Fu menus. Dinner offers Degustation or Chi-Fu, both nine courses. The house suggests a pairing of small pours matched to each dish. The set may include sake, Shaoxing wine or craft beer alongside wine.
