The story
Végállomás Bistro&Wine, at Kiss tábornok út 50–52 in Miskolc, Hungary, runs a contemporary kitchen built on ingredients from the Bükk hills. Gault&Millau awarded it 14 points in 2026, and the restaurant also holds a Michelin Recommended listing for the same year.
Chef Ádám Darab leads the kitchen, which draws on wild mushrooms, herbs, game and freshwater fish from the Bükk. The team also sources organic rice from the Körös area. A starter might arrive on a wooden board with pressed Mangalica head meat, a Jerusalem artichoke salad and a spinach quiche that is delicate enough to melt.
The Tisza pike-perch fillet is prepared in Carpathian style. It comes in a silky sauce with seared crayfish and king oyster mushrooms, alongside dill-laced dödölle from Abaúj. The dish shows how the kitchen reworks Hungarian tradition with restraint.
The restaurant occupies the building that once housed the last stop of the Lillafüred narrow-gauge railway, and a commemorative carriage still stands nearby. Inside, patterned textiles, curtains and wallpaper sit against large windows and soft armchairs. The wine list offers nearly a hundred selections from Hungary and abroad, and a private room is available for tastings.
