The story
Avalon Ristorante is an Italian restaurant at Iglói utca 15 in Miskolctapolca, Miskolc, and it holds 14 points from Gault&Millau for 2026. It sits within the Avalon Fun Park resort complex in the Bükk Hills, where it operates as a standalone dining destination.
The menu opens with small plates meant for sharing. Italian flavours lead, with Spanish, Asian and Hungarian influences alongside. The spaghettoni carbonara is made with real guanciale and has a creamy, rich texture. The tiramisù is finished at the table, with a sponge disc soaked in Italian coffee and coffee liqueur from a Bialetti moka pot, then topped with mascarpone mousse and cocoa.
The wine list leans towards Italy and Hungary, and the drinks selection is premium. Beside the main room is a wine salon, plus Club Avalon, a casual space serving deep-fried Viennese Emmental, mangalitsa schnitzel and pulled pork sandwiches. Staff are attentive and well trained.
