The story
Petrányi Csopak, at Homokbánya út 31. in Csopak, is a Hungarian restaurant that scored 14.5 from Gault&Millau for 2026. The estate's terrace overlooks Lake Balaton, and the kitchen cooks to the water view as much as to the plate.
Ádám Mede joined head chef Endre Ruga as creative chef in 2024. Gault&Millau names Mede's lamb stew with rosemary potatoes and his curd dumplings as signatures. The duck liver "au torchon" comes with truffle, sour cherry jam and kalács bread.
The terrace has a 180-degree view of the lake and is recognised by Michelin. Wine and food pairings change with the seasons. The estate's own wines sit alongside house lemonades, cordials and pálinkas. The space suits family dinners, business meetings and weddings.
