The story
Alt Wyk, at Große Straße 4 in Wyk auf Föhr, is a classic cuisine restaurant that received one Michelin star in 2026. The red brick house sits near the waterfront promenade, and its European menu changes with the seasons.
René Dittrich, executive chef and owner, builds his cooking on classical foundations and uses fine ingredients. Guests can combine eight dishes into a menu of four to six courses. A Der Feinschmecker visit described scallops with peas and buttermilk, lobster with farfalle and ratatouille, and veal fillet served with jus and kohlrabi. Small touches such as the bread and the macarons are also made in-house.
Maritime tiles decorate the walls of the small, cozy dining room. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded the restaurant three Kochlöffel for 2026. Daniela Dittrich leads a young team, and the service is relaxed and discreet.
The wine list offers around 120 selections, with ten available by the glass. Guests can choose a wine journey with German wines or an alcohol-free pairing designed to match the menu.
