The story
Gasthof Fuchs'sche Mühle at Birkenauer Talstr. 10 in Weinheim received 2 Kochlöffel from the Schlemmer Atlas in 2026. The world cuisine is served in a former mill that has been in the same family since 1782.
The guide singles out pepper steak, wild game goulash and veal backstrap. These are eaten in the beer garden beside the river, under old trees. The restaurant says it cooks with regional freshness, and the small garden menu in summer keeps things simple.
Inside, the dining rooms each have their own style: a modern, air-conditioned "Wohnzimmer", the snug "Müllerstube" and a terrace. Owner W.-G. Fuchs runs mill tours. His is the only mill in the Sechs-Mühlen-Tal, and its Kaplan turbine still produces electricity from the Weschnitz. A 22-room hotel sits on the same grounds.
