The story
Café Rapp in Villingen-Schwenningen serves a French and Mediterranean kitchen from Dörfle 22, 78126 Königsfeld im Schwarzwald, and was listed as Michelin Recommended for 2026. The restaurant sits in a small Black Forest village and pairs its classic cuisine with a house that also keeps guest rooms.
Alexander Rapp leads the kitchen, and the team says it stays in close contact with its suppliers. They want to know who caught, sowed or harvested each product. Everything is made in house, without flavor enhancers, dyes, glutamate or yeast extracts. A past post shows pike-perch on risotto, topped with watercress picked from the Buchenberg brook.
The Schlemmer Atlas, which awarded the restaurant 2.5 Kochlöffel for 2026, singles out smoked salmon and pink venison loin. Homemade cake rounds out the dessert side. The photo gallery shows the kitchen's plated dishes, so guests can see the presentation before they arrive.
The house has six guest rooms, and it was fully renovated in 2011 with new bathrooms. The wine list leans toward Bordeaux, Burgundy, Tuscany and Rioja, and Champagne is available by the glass.
