The story
Restaurant Chiemgauhof stands on the shore of Lake Chiemsee at Julius-Exter-Promenade 21 in Übersee, where the kitchen works in Bavarian and Japanese cuisine. Der Feinschmecker awarded it 2.5 points in 2026, and the menu is built around producers from the surrounding Chiemgau.
Florian Litza and Louis Wiegand lead the kitchen. The restaurant describes its cooking as rooted in the region, seasonal in thinking, and modern in interpretation. Much of the menu depends on what local producers deliver, and the plates stay close to Bavarian traditions.
Chiemsee pike-perch from the Lex fishery is cooked gently in a bamboo basket and served with mustard greens, potato and leek, and a beurre blanc. Grammelknödel, a dumpling filled with crisp bacon, comes with creamed greens and a meat jus. Braised Chiemgau beef arrives with palm cabbage, Jerusalem artichoke, and fermented cranberries, whose sharpness cuts through the rich meat. Schlemmer Atlas also highlights onsen eggs and lamb shoulder.
Window tables facing the lake are the most requested seats. The room blends Bavarian warmth with a more international look, and Schlemmer Atlas notes a tiled stove alongside the lake view. Service is described as very friendly, and the wine list carries many familiar names.
