The story
Kings and Queens is a small international restaurant at Bauerngasse 101 in Schweinfurt, listed as Recommended by the Michelin Guide in 2026. Sabine and Marc Wiederer have cooked here in the inner city since 2003.
The card follows the season and changes every month. Three menus run side by side, one of them fully vegetarian, and guests can mix them or order single courses. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded 3 Kochlöffel in 2026, pointing to turbot and lamb, regional ingredients and Franconian wines.
The meat menu opened with quail breast, nut butter blanc and morel risotto, or goose dim sum in Szechuan broth with pear and kale. Beef fillet came with oxtail jus and celery. The other menu leaned Mediterranean and Middle Eastern: gurnard with Arabic spice blanc, yogurt dip and hummus, then Belota Iberico pork two ways with wild broccoli and parmesan polenta. Vegetarians could choose sweet potato with roasted chickpeas, tomato sugo and a mint soy yogurt dip. Cheese comes from the affineur Hofmann in Bad Tölz.
The list runs to nearly 200 positions and leans mostly on Franconian bottles. A few wines from southern Europe and overseas fill out the rest.
