The story
Eisenbahn, in Schwäbisch Hall at Karl-Kurz-Straße 2, is a modern French restaurant that holds one Michelin star (2026). It sits inside the Landhaus Wolf, a family-run country house in Hessental on the edge of the city, and its kitchen works in the modern French tradition.
Thomas Wolf continues the classic haute cuisine that has long defined the restaurant in the Hohenlohe region. His touch is understated, and he stays open to modern elements. Foie gras has been a fixed part of the menu for years. The tasting menus run from three to seven courses, and every dish can also be ordered individually.
Cured yellowfin mackerel arrives with radish, caviar and a champagne vinaigrette, the most modern turn on the menu. The Simmental beef fillet brings the kitchen back to classic French territory, served with spinach, potato foam and truffle glaze. The seven-course Prestige menu offers the full range in one sitting.
The wine list leans on top-tier red wines from Bordeaux and Italy, bottles held at their peak drinking age. It also covers Burgundy, the Rhône Valley, Spain and the New World. The dining room is a refined country-house space with a bright interior and coffered ceilings. A private room is available, and the house hosts celebrations for up to 80 guests.
