The story
Kirschner Stuben is a Bavarian kitchen at Seestraße 23 in Rottach-Egern, on the south shore of Lake Tegernsee. Michelin listed the restaurant as Recommended in 2026, and the Schlemmer Atlas awarded it two Kochlöffel the same year.
The restaurant describes its cooking as Bavarian with Mediterranean and Asian influences. The Schlemmer Atlas singles out octopus and turbot as dishes served as naturally here as a Viennese schnitzel or veal meatballs. Prawns have their own calendar, with "Garnelen-Satt" evenings listed for June and July 2026 at 65 euros per guest. Some specialties are available on pre-order, so it is worth asking ahead for those.
Kirschner Stuben sits within the Hotel Maier zum Kirschner, a family-run house that has stayed in one family for five generations. The room is described as charming, and the terrace hosts seasonal events. A DAYDRINKING afternoon on 4 July lists free entry from midday. The restaurant also takes private parties and events, so a larger table is possible.
