The story
Kaminrestaurant at Aribostraße 19 in Rottach-Egern is a Bavarian kitchen built around its fireplace, and the Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for 2026.
The house has two moods. The traditional room has wood-paneled walls and a tiled stove, while the fireplace restaurant feels more modern and still inviting. Schlemmer Atlas awards it two Kochlöffel for 2026, and its reviewers singled out the beef tartare, the boiled veal and the Kaiserschmarrn.
The menu moves from Wiener Schnitzel at lunch to homemade cake in the afternoon. Dinner by the crackling fire is the most romantic option, with regional and international dishes.
The Stubn Alois and Anton are the cozier, more rustic rooms of the restaurant. Bavarian Schmankerln appear on the menu every Thursday, a good day to order country cooking at its most traditional.
Evenings often end at the KostBar, where champagne, wine and cocktails draw both hotel guests and locals from the Tegernsee valley.
