The story
Auers Schlosswirtschaft is a Bavarian country-cooking inn in Rosenheim, Germany, at Rosenheimer Straße 8 in Neubeuern (83115). Michelin gave it a Bib Gourmand for 2026, recognising good quality cooking at good value.
The kitchen still prepares its dishes by hand from fresh ingredients, without modern kitchen technology and without industrial convenience products. The menu follows the seasons and the region, with Bavarian dishes built on that approach. Vegetarian and vegan plates are part of the offering as well.
The dining rooms have plain wooden tables and a minimalist interior with a deliberately quirky decor. In winter, a fire burns in the fireplace, and game or a warm soup suits the season. In summer, guests sit outdoors by candlelight under linden and chestnut trees. The Schlemmer Atlas, which awards 2 Kochlöffel for 2026, describes the same wooden tables, fireplace and chestnut-tree seating.
