The story
Coeur D'Artichaut in Münster serves modern French cooking at Alter Fischmarkt 11A, and the kitchen holds two Michelin stars in the 2026 guide for excellent cooking.
Frédéric Morel, born in France, builds his menus on Breton roots and the produce of his adopted home in Westphalia. Creole spices sit alongside regional ingredients, and the sauces and stocks stand out. The tasting menu changes every month and follows the season.
One fish course pairs cold-smoked sturgeon with Ossetra caviar, served with cauliflower prepared three ways and samphire. The Münsterland venison comes with pan-seared porcini, lingonberries and a pumpernickel purée, plus a praline made from braised venison shoulder served on the side. Guests choose four, six or eight courses.
Seven tables surround the open kitchen, and a separate room seats up to ten for groups. The service is warm, and chefs sometimes visit the tables. Katrin, the chef sommelier, selects the wines, which are available as pairings, as a prestige option, or as a non-alcoholic pairing that the Gusto guide counts among the best in Germany.
