The story
La Bohème is a steakhouse at Leopoldstraße 180 in Munich's Schwabing district, listed as Michelin Recommended in 2026. The kitchen is built around large cuts, sharing plates and a finish that happens at your table.
The large cuts arrive on a wooden board. Some are poured over with overproof bourbon whiskey and flambéed, so the residual sugar caramelizes on the crust. Others are covered in rosemary and thyme and fired with a Bunsen burner for a smoky aroma. The list runs from Simmentaler fillet and Black Aberdeen rib-eye to a 1,200 g porterhouse and Japanese A5 Wagyu. The Schlemmer Atlas gave the restaurant 2 Kochlöffel in 2026.
Beef tatar from Black Aberdeen fillet, flamed tataki and dynamite prawns with chili and togarashi come together in a sharing plate for two. Lobster bisque, burnt aubergine with tahini and miso, and Oscietra caviar with blini are on the starter list too. Steak sharing menus start at three people, with optional add-ons such as half a lobster tail or seared duck liver.
On Saturdays and Sundays, brunch comes to the table in courses instead of from a buffet. Eight courses over three hours cost 92 euros, with Crémant, wine and hot drinks included. Saturday brings electronic music and Bloody Marys. On Sunday, close-up magicians work the tables from 11 to 14 hours. A separate private room, equipped with a projector and screen, hosts banquets and tastings.
