The story
GRETA OTO Munich, a Latin American restaurant at Karlsplatz 25 in Munich, earned a Michelin recommendation in 2026 and a 2 Kochlöffel rating from the Schlemmer Atlas. The menu moves from Peruvian ceviche to Brazilian beef, with dishes built around Amazonian ingredients.
Peruvian chef Michael Cánepa leads the kitchen. The cooking keeps traditional Amazonian flavours at its core and adds modern technique and international influences. Many dishes come "with or without" heat, so guests choose their own spice level.
The ceviche GRETA OTO arrives in leche de tigre with chili, onion, cilantro and roasted sweet corn. You can choose the classic or the exotic version, and add organic salmon, mahi mahi, king prawn or grilled watermelon for a vegan option. On weekday lunches, the caja bento serves four courses in one box, starting with an Amazonian salad and ending with house-made sorbet.
La Mesa, a private table beside the main room, seats up to 14 guests and overlooks the city centre and the Frauenkirche. The rooftop terrace, open in summer with views toward the Bavarian Alps, reopens in May 2026. On Thursday evenings from 5 to 7 PM, the pisco fiesta offers two pisco cocktails for the price of one. The dress code is smart casual.
