The story
Restaurant Das Nack operates at Pfarrstrasse 13 in Gau-Bischofsheim, a few kilometres south of Mainz, with a Mediterranean and French kitchen. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2 Kochlöffel in 2026.
A chalkboard of daily recommendations changes with the season, so the card follows what is fresh. Regional dishes such as carpaccio of Spießbraten sit alongside Galician octopus, and steaks come straight off the grill. Vegetarian pasta and salads and a classic Wiener Schnitzel round out the menu.
The dining room is vaulted and set in a restored courtyard, and the first-floor terrace extends the space. Guests can choose from fresh estate wine through to mature large growths. High tables topped with old wine crates and sturdy tables with deep chairs invite a long evening, and the restaurant offers wheelchair access.
