Les Deux Dienstbach, Mainz: French Cuisine at Weingut Künstler

Les Deux Dienstbach in Mainz serves French cuisine at Geheimrat-Hummel-Platz 1a, 65239 Hochheim am Main, in the historic manor house of Weingut Künstler. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it three Kochlöffel for 2026.

Seasonal cooking with a French base

Jennifer Himmel runs the kitchen and hosts guests, and Christian Aguilar is head chef. Their menus follow the season and use organic and regional produce wherever possible. Guests can build a three- to six-course menu, or simply order a smaller plate at the Sunday lunch, offered once a month from noon.

The sisters behind the restaurant grew up with a French mother who ran a hotel in France and with grandparents who farmed in Normandy. Their grandparents taught them that less is often more, and that the product has to be of the highest quality.

A manor house above the Main

The restaurant has occupied the Künstler estate's manor house since 2022. It sits on the edge of Hochheim's old town, close to the vineyards above the Main. The interior is elegant without being formal, and a terrace allows dining outdoors in warm weather.

The house can be reserved exclusively for private or business events. Hosts can also arrange a tour of the estate's wine cellar as an aperitif.

Wines from the estate and beyond

The wine list leans on the Künstler cellars, with a selection of French bottles and rotating visits from guest winemakers. The Wednesday Menu Surprise begins at 18:30 with an aperitif in the Barriquekeller.
